A 33-year-old Ingleside woman is accused of stabbing her 6-year-old son in the chest in Ingleside Thursday, according to Ingleside Police. The woman then left the scene and caused a serious accident.

A crash on the 2300 block of Highway 361 led officers to the boy with the stab wound, who was left on the 1900 block of Highway 361, according to a post by the Ingleside Police Department.

It was discovered during the investigation that the woman who caused the accident was the mother of the boy with the stab wound, and officers say she is the one who stabbed the child, then left the scene, according to the post.

The boy was rushed to Northwest Hospital where he was stabilized, and then taken to Driscoll Children’s Hospital. He is listed in stable but serious condition.

The woman was HALO-flighted to Spohn Shoreline after the accident and is listed in stable but serious condition.

Passengers in the other car that was involved in the accident were taken to the hospital but are expected to be okay, according to the post.

The woman’s name has not been released and it is unclear if she has been arrested yet due to her medical condition. The Ingleside Police Department is continuing to investigate this crime.
