UPDATE: Police say two women were shot at in a red Toyota Thursday night after they reached the base on the northside of the Harbor Bridge. They were reportedly heading toward Portland on Highway 181 when someone in another vehicle began shooting. One woman was injured and taken to the hospital in Corpus Christi with not life threatening injuries.
Police are still investigating.
PORTLAND – Police are currently investigating an apparent shooting that happened between two moving vehicles along Highway 181.
The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Two separate scenes are being investigated. A team of police are at the Exxon on Wildcat Drive where our news photographer reports a red Toyota sits riddled with bullets. That Exxon is currently closed while police investigate.
They’ve confirmed that someone was taken to the hospital; condition unknown at this time.
Another unit is at the 400 block of Highway 181 near Whataburger.
There is no confirmation yet on what precipitated the shooting or how many people are involved.
