Two separate busts yesterday led to Border Patrol agents in Falfurrias seizing more than 135 pound of narcotics.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, on April 18, agents assigned to the Falfurrias Checkpoint referred a Chrysler Town and Country passenger car, occupied by two U.S. citizens, to the secondary inspection area.

Inside the vehicle, agents discovered eight bundles of methamphetamine weighing over 45 pounds and worth an estimated $1.5 million.

Both the drugs and the people in the van were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Later that day, CBP says agents referred a tractor-trailer, driven by a U.S. citizen, to the secondary inspection area.

Upon investigation, agents discovered 35 bundles of cocaine mixed within the cargo. The cocaine weighed over 90 pounds and is worth over $3 million.

The driver and the cocaine were turned over to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
