Bail set for Balchuck Lane murder suspect

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The man accused of murdering a couple during a home invasion appeared before a local judge this morning.

18-year-old Trebor Campbell Wheeler was arrested Wednesday, April 11 in Kileen. He was released to Nueces County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday morning. 

A magistrate judge read Wheeler’s charges to him this morning at the Nueces County Jail. Wheeler is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and capital murder involving multiple persons.

The judge set Wheeler’s bail at $100,000 for one robbery charge, $150,000 for the other robbery charge and $1 million for the capital murder charge. 

On April 2nd, Arturo and Miriam Lopez were found dead in their home on the 25-hundred block of Balchuck Lane. No motive or details have been released in their deaths.
