The Texas Veterans Land Board is inviting the public to honor the service of a Vietnam War era veteran on Monday, April 16 at 2 p.m.
Private First Class Gerald Dean Yates served in the U.S. Army from December 1963 to December 1965,
According to the Victoria Mortuary and Cremation Service no living next of kin could be found for Yates.
The Veterans Land Board is inviting the public to the funeral as part of their commitment to ensure that no veteran is left behind.
The board says cemetery staff will coordinate with the Honor Guard to ensure that Yates receives full military honors.
The Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery is located at 9974 I-37 Access Road in Corpus Christi.
