A barbecue fundraiser is being held for a baby girl who allegedly died at the hands of her mother.

18-month-old Arabella Sanchez died last Friday after paramedics were called to an apartment in Robstown for an injured child.

Arabella’s death was later ruled a homicide, and her mother, 19-year-old Chasity Herrera, is now in jail on charges of murder and injury to a child by omission.

The barbecue fundraiser is being held right now at the Texas Round-Up bar on Ayers St. near Tarlton.

It started Friday morning at 10 a.m. and is supposed to last until the family runs out of food.

Family members say they are holding the fundraiser to help with Arabella’s funeral expenses.
