The playground at one of the city's newest parks will be off limits for several months.
The Water's Edge playground will shut down beginning Monday, and it won't reopen until the second week of March.
So why the long closure?
Crews will be replacing the existing play surface.
Other areas of the park -- like the Islanders pavilion, the dog park and the fitness area -- will not be affected by the closure.
They will remain open.
