CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — We have the latest on a Troubleshooters story we reported in June about this house on Goldfish Street on the Island.
The owner, Scott Schmidt, of Cozy Coastal Properties, had a pitch added to the roof about a year ago.
But he did not pull the necessary permits to have the work done, according to the city's Development Services department.

Not only that, an engineer filed for Windstorm certification for the home.
And a family has been renting the home the whole time.
But how safe are they?

Today, Gene De Lauro with Development Services tells us the necessary permits have been pulled.
The necessary improvements made.
Once the engineer submits the proper Windstorm certification, the city will send an inspector to check all the work.

As far as the tenants safety? De Lauro told us if they felt the family was in danger, the city would have told the owner to get them out.
