CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Troubleshooters saw one of the bathrooms in John and Marsha Sowell's house today. The Sowell's hired SLG Contracting to remodel two bathrooms.
The couple claims it's been weeks since SLG Contracting has done any work on it.

John Sowell says he signed a contract with Shawn Gonzales, who runs SLG.
Total cost to remodel 2 bathrooms, according to this contract, signed May 30th, was slightly less than $21,000.00, of which the Sowell's claim they've already paid nearly $14,000.00.

"I actually feel like I'm a very good judge of character," John Sowell told us. "And he seemed like a very nice individual who was planning on getting stuff done."
He says Gonzales told him he'd work 6 days a week in order to have both bathrooms finished in 4 weeks.
But work on the second one hasn't even started.
"And we kept track of the hours, and there was 40 total hours worked. So obviously not 6 days a week."

Sowell told us today he feels violated.
And after what appeared to be a failure to communicate with Shawn Gonzales, the Sowell's patience ran out.
They sent him this text message.
"I think it would be best if we just part ways. We can come up with a fair price for the work you have done, but we need to get most of our money back. Call me so we can discuss this."

The Sowell's have contacted another contractor, but they estimate it's still going to cost them $20,000.00 to get the work done.

The Troubleshooters left 2 messages for Shawn Gonzales this afternoon and another one tonight. He has not returned our calls.

The Sowell's want a refund from Gonzales or they'll consider legal action against him.
