CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Showers and t-storms will increase Monday afternoon as a tropical wave moves in from the Gulf.

The main energy from this wave will go to our south so the best rain chances will be in our southern counties with a lower chance to the west and north.

The rain chance decreases Tuesday as the wave moves inland but another area of low pressure aloft will increase our rain chances again for Thursday into Friday as it moves in from the west.

High temperatures will stay slightly below average, in the upper 80s to 90 today, climbing into the low 90s Wednesday before cooling slightly late-week. It looks like we'll dry out by late Friday and into the upcoming weekend.

The tropics are very active with four named storms as Teddy as recently formed in the Atlantic. Sally, which is in the northern Gulf is expected to become a category one hurricane before making landfall late tonight near Grand Isle, Louisiana.

Our swells will increase tonight and Tuesday from the storm and minor coastal flooding is expected with a higher rip current risk.
