CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The search continues on who would leave about more than a dozen dogs at three different locations in packed in crates.

The pups are on the road to recovery and a local business is stepping in to help.

"Fur Ever United" is the name of the group nursing these dogs back to health.

More than twenty dogs were found in the most unthinkable situation, cramped in crates and were in need of help.

Workers with Waves Resort Corpus Christi heard about the situation and wanted to help.

“There was a need in the community they came to us and they asked us for some help and we gladly said yes,” says Lisa Marie Barocas.

The dogs remain in the care with “Fur Ever United” and are making much progress.

“And I get to see updates online of their progress and they went from being very malnourished very long nails now, full of energy and it’s just amazing that they were given some love and the change in them,” says volunteer Joelle Kedzic.

However, volunteers with the non-profit animal rescue group say these pups still have a ways to go in their recovery journey.

Saturday, July 20th, 2019 at 3 pm, the water park is having their Bucket Babies Fundraiser to support these dogs.

All the dogs will be at this event, and all of the proceeds will benefit the animal rescue group.
