CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Selling a home can be challenging, and having an eyesore right next to your property can things even more difficult.

This is the case for one Corpus Christi homeowner, who said he wants to see something done.

The homeowner, who only wanted to be identified as Jerry, said the neighbor's property looks so bad that Jerry's having a hard time selling his home because of it.

He was able to put up a new fence, yet, behind the fence still sits the run-down property.

The run-down home on Maryland Drive's windows are boarded up, the grass in the yard is high, and beer cans litter the front yard.

“Just that they're afraid of this next door because it's an eyesore,” Jerry said about potential buyers.

He said he's owned this property since the 1970s and, in the past, he's successfully rented the home out. But now for him, it's time to sell.

However, selling is hard to do when potential buyers explain they fear moving in.

Jerry said he has told the Corpus Christi Police Department's Code Enforcement Division about the problem, and it confirms the home next door is a vacant house.
