A couple living in a local apartment called the Troubleshooters for help getting the collapsed ceiling in their bathroom repaired.

Minister Joe Keys and his wife, Charlotte, live at the Marbella Apartments.

They need help in getting it repaired.

Keys has been taking notes. The ceiling began leaking Sept. 12.

That's when he began notifying management.

“I reported it about 10 times,” he said. “And nobody came to see about it.”

The ceiling eventually collapsed, Keys remembers, on or about Sept. 15 or 16.

“And then on the 24th, they put up a black tarp,” he said. “A black bag with tape over it. And tape does not hold water.” But not only has the ceiling collapsed, mold is growing, he says.

“Look into the bottom of the tub,” he said. “I have to spray because roaches and flies and everything be floating around here.” Keys says it's difficult for him and his wife to use their shower. He suffers from asthma. His wife suffers from asthma and bronchitis. She just got out of the hospital.Their doctor wrote this letter, which says in part, due to these adverse conditions...They should not remain in this environment. A maintenance man showed up again a week ago.He identified the problem.A pipe in the ceiling was leaking. They fixed it, but not the hole in the ceiling.

The Troubleshooters spoke with the new property manager on Friday. And while she declined to give us her full name, she did promise to have Keys’ bathroom ceiling repaired. And it was.Keys says it has already collapsed. We'll keep following this story and keep you updated.
