So much has been said about Miller's great offense and for good reason.

The Bucs average 57 points per game, but it was their defense that saved the day in their big upset win over second-ranked Lampasas Saturday in San Antonio.

The Bucs stopped the Badgers on fourth and one with just 49 seconds left to preserve a gritty 54-49 triumph.

"I did not want to go home and I knew if they got a first down we were going to have to stop them again," Miller linebacker Jayshawn Trimble said. "Everyone was so hyped and when we made the stop it was like, wow we are going to the next round of the playoffs."

The Bucs are back at practice getting ready to play Boerne in the class 4A Division I regional semifinals Friday night at The Alamodome.

Miller needs six wins in the post-season to win a state title. A victory over the Greyhounds will get them halfway there.

If teams are still playing football when the holidays roll around, they know it is a special season.

"Practicing during Thanksgiving is really a privilege because that is not promised at all," Miller quarterback Andrew Body said. "You have to work for it so it's a blessing for all of us."

Kickoff for Friday's game is set for 7:30 p.m. The Friday Night Fever crew will have your game coverage on KRIS 6 News at 10 p.m.
