The University Interscholastic League (U.I.L.) has announced delayed starts for certain schools and activities in the 2020-2021 U.I.L. calendar.

"These adjustments reflect the public health situation at this time and the varying numbers of COVID-19 cases across different geographic areas of the state," says a press release from the U.I.L..

The delayed starts are different based on the size of the school and the activity. Some school activities will start on schedule.

UIL representatives say the plan will provide a delay for 5A and 6A conferences as they are in highly populated metro areas, while 1A to 4A schools will start on schedule.

We released a poll this morning on what the decision might have been. You can still vote in that poll here.

The UIL has also updated their protocols regarding preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Those updates can be found here.
