A local restaurant fed hundreds of people a warm meal at no cost on this Christmas day.
The doors opened at Peoples Restaurant at 11 a.m. to serve up generosity and a plate of warm food.
Staff fed about 500 people.
Many of those who ate are currently staying at the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission.
But for the holiday they made the trip to the restaurant.
"We had turkey with gravy and mashed potatoes and carrots and iced tea, and that's all we could ask for," said Jesse Ruiz, one of those who received lunch.
"It feels good," said Tony Sanborn, another recipient of the free lunch. "I don't get out much so it feels good to be around other people."
This is the restaurant's fifth year to serve up free Christmas meals.
