The Bar-B-Q Man on Interstate 37 has been locally owned for 43 years.
This iconic Coastal Bend eatery is famous for their hearty portions and how they give back to the community.
And on #TakeoutTuesday, we couldn't think of a more delicious place to go for some succulent brisket, ribs and sausage.
They are located at 4931 I-37 near Navigation where they have been serving up great barbecue since 1977.
Owner Malcolm DeShield has made it a point to take care of his employees over the years.
DeShield didn't allow any of them to miss a full paycheck because he went several weeks without paying himself during the pandemic.
And regardless of the situation, DeShield says his restaurant will always be there to serve the community.
“We will survive, we have been here 43 years," DeShield said. "Any hurricane that has occurred we have not closed. We have our own power supply and plenty of resources and plenty of equipment and we will be here for a long time.”
And they'll be open until 8 p.m. tonight if you have a hankering to swing by.
