Troubleshooters: Tree Trimming Service Complaint Ends in a Case Closed

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Veteran called the Troubleshooters with a complaint about a tree trimming service he hired.

Marty Jaime says he was working on his lawn when Steve Contreras of Tip Top Tree Trimming Service stopped and offered to trim his trees.

Jaime says on July 10, 2019, he paid Contreras $600.00 to trim some trees and do some other work in his front yard.

Jaime says he was familiar with Contreras's services because he had hired him a couple years back to do similar work, and back then, Contreras did a good job.

But this time things were much different.

Jaime says he told Contreras to dig out a tree root and cover it with top soil and sod, but Contreras was giving him the runaround.

Jaime then reached out to the Troubleshooters because he said he felt like he had been scammed by Contreras.

On Wednesday the Troubleshooters called Steve Contreras to get his side of the story.

"Wait a minute, wait a minute here. He told me that I had to be there today to do the job. I told him I would be there today to do the job and the day's not over," said Steve Contreras of Tip Top Trimming Service.

Contreras kept his word because at around 5:30pm Wednesday afternoon, Marty Jaime called to let the Troubleshooters know Contreras had come to his house and finished the job he'd been paid to do.

Jaime added that he was very pleased with the quality of work Contreras did.

That makes this a Troubleshooters Case Closed.
