CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — "I don't have any paperwork to this home other than loan paperwork. The contract from when we started to build, and then when we converted over to the VA loan."

That should give you an idea of why Nathaniel Merida says he contacted the Troubleshooters for help.

He built what he calls his American Dream, a 2,100-square foot home about 5 miles outside Beeville.

Merida says he just moved in, in June, months later than what he was promised by Charley Guzman and Delta G Custom Homes.

Turns out, Merida does have paperwork. The Construction Contract Agreement he signed with Delta G Custom Homes includes a one-year homeowners' limited warranty.

And it's been inspected, but Merida claims he never signed off on a certificate of occupancy.

As we walked thru it today, we didn't see the issues Merida wants fixed, until he pointed them out to us.

There's an issue with this gas stove pilot light.

Merida says he was never given the remote for the garage door opener.

And there are issues with door latches, to name just a few.

Years after retiring from the Navy, Merida had this house built on land his family owns.

But, he says he called us because it's been one problem after another, like mold on the ceiling, with this place.

"So what is it that you want ? Why did you call us ? I need the house finished. I need it painted. I need it to be like it was a brand new home."

Merida says he's also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I spoke with Charley Guzman this afternoon.

He says he's aware of the issues at Mr. Merida's home, and will have his punchlist crew out there to take care of each one of them within a week.

We'll let you know if and when that happens.
