Today’s Troubleshooters report is about a former Orange Grove Assistant Police Chief-turned-contractor.
We’ve received several complaints, and done many stories about him, going back to 2011.
Today, a Corpus Christi woman tells us about her recent experience with Frank Jaramillo Junior.
Isabel Martinez hired Frank Jaramillo Junior in September 2018 to turn her front yard into a paved concrete driveway.
As of today, the job’s nowhere close to being done.
“Never, ever would I have thought he did this to me,” Martinez told the Troubleshooters.
She showed us a picture of some work TLC Concrete, Jaramillo’s company, had done at her home for which she’s already paid him $1500.00 in 3 checks.
“And he would come and start a little bit here. And then he would leave. And then he would come, and he would start. And then he said ‘I’m having car trouble. My workers can’t work right now. And I live in Alice.”
Martinez insists she had never heard about Frank Jaramillo Junior before she hired him.
But as he continued giving her excuse after excuse, she checked him out on the internet.
“Oh my god ! Started crying. I felt so bad that he had taken my money,” she said.
In January 2012 Frank Jaramillo Junior was arrested and charged with writing bad checks.
In September 2012 he pled guilty to 2 counts of theft.
Stories we have done on him show there’s a consistent pattern to his actions.
He makes promises to his customers that he doesn’t keep.
Martinez says he’s promised her a full $1500.00 refund.
“It just hurts me that he took my money after I trusted him to come and do the job he had promised me to do.”
In a text to her, dated November 30th, 2018, he wrote “I know for sure I’ll have your money Monday afternoon.”
3 months later, he’s telling us the same thing.
But Martinez isn’t the only one with a complaint against him.
So we asked him “why is that happening ? Sir, I will see her on Friday. Ok, I appreciate that. Alot of people tell me that.” (guy hangs up)
