The woman charged in the disappearance of a Fort Hood soldier was in court Monday morning to hear the charges against her.

Cecily Aguilar, 22, faces felony charges of mutilating the body of U.S. Army Pvt. Vanessa Guillen and then helping dispose of the remains.

The hearing in Killeen was conducted via teleconference.

When asked if she understood the charges against her, Aguilar told the judge, “Yeah, yeah, sure."

Aguilar faces 20 years in prison.

Another Fort Hood soldier identified as Aaron Robinson reportedly confessed to Aguilar that he killed Guillen back in April with a hammer.

Investigators say Robinson and Aguilar tried to dispose of Guillen’s remains by dismembering the body, burning it and then burying it.

The remains were discovered last week.
