CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A new executive order in Bexar County states that all bars and establishments that have a TABC permit must close until further notice.

Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff issued the order Thursday. It goes into effect at 11 p.m.

Bexar County has seen a spike in COVID-19 cases in the past week, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

"Effective as of 11 p.m. on Dec. 10, 2020 and until further notice, due to a significant increase in the rate of infection in Bexar County as determined by responsible health professionals, bars and similar establishments that hold a permit from TABC and are not restaurants as defined in paragraph No. 6 of GA-32, may no longer offer on-premises service in Bexar County," the order states.

Also, in Bexar County, large gatherings or events with more than 10 people outdoors are prohibited.
