CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — There a couple of perfect scores, a couple of B-list and one C-list restaurant in Tuesday's edition of the Kitchen Cops.
Whataburger located at 602 South Padre Island Drive scored a 100.
Jefe's Mobile Café a food truck scored a 100.
Earning a spot on the A-list with a 99 is Fresco located at 619 Chaparral.
Booklyn Pie Co. located 15326 South Padre Island Drive scored a 99.
Shell's Pasta & Seafood located at 522 East Avenue G scored a 98.
Wienerschnitzel located at 5861 Staples scored a 96.
Smoothie King located at 5366 McArdle scored a 96.
T.G.I. Fridays located at 5217 South Padre Island Drive scored a 95.
Bellino's located at 3815 Alameda scored a 95.
Chipotle Mexican Grill located at 4938 Staples scored a 95.
Nona's Cocina a food truck scored a 95.
La Playa Mexican Grille located at 222 Beach Street scored a 94.
Fiesta Mexicana Restaurant located at 2331 Agnes scored a 93.
Wallbangers Restaurant located at 4102 Staples scored a 92.
Denny's located at 4918 South Padre Island Drive scored a 91.
Corner Bakery Café located at 4938 Staples scored a 91.
Dropping down to the B-list with an 89 is Popeye's located at 5701 Everhart.
Violations included shortening stored under the hand washing sink, all insert pans needed to be washed, employees were not washing hands between tasks, employees were not wearing hair or beard restraints and flour containers need to be covered.
Thai Siam located at 13925 South Padre Island Drive scored an 89.
Health inspectors found raw meat above vegetables, food was not labeled, towels and clothes were stored in the hand washing sink, bulk containers were not labeled, rusted racks in refrigerator need to be replaced, the back door seal needs to be replaced, dirty hoods and no dog in restaurant unless it it a service animal.
Only one restaurant made the C-list.
Buffet Kong located at 4951 Ayers scored a 79.
The restaurant lost points because food was kept at the wrong temperature, a dirty ice machine, food was stored on top of food, chemicals were not labeled, food was not labeled, items were stored in the hand washing sink, someone was smoking in the kitchen, all cups need lids, wet rags were not stored properly, bulk food need to be put in containers, dirty soda fountain and a dirty freezer.
