Rescue group warns of horses being stabbed along NC/SC border

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, veterinarians near the North Carolina and South Carolina border have reported a number of horses have been treated for serious lacerations.

The incidents were first reported by the Charlotte Observer .

These incidents took place in the Landrum, Campobello, and Gowensville areas of South Carolina, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Also, Fleet of Angels, a horse rescue group, said that a horse died in Tryon, North Carolina,

"If you own horses in any of the areas being targeted, please be vigilant and notify authorities if you see any suspicious activity that concerns you. It's not a bad idea these days to have cameras around pastures, pens, and barns when possible," the group wrote on Facebook.
