CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Ingleside on the Bay Volunteer Fire Department is getting a major equipment upgrade. It's all thanks to one of its industrial neighbors.

MODA Midstream, a company involved in the energy sector, presented the fire department with a $40,000 check today.

The money will be used to buy new bunker gear for firefighters, which is crucial for them to be able to do their jobs safely.

"We're all neighbors in this and I think, you know it sounds a little, you know, kind of neighbors helping neighbors but it feels good," said Bob McCall, MODA Midstream CEO.

The mayor of Ingleside on the Bay says the donation will allow them to upgrade all their bunker gear to national fire protection agency standards all at once.

Something they've never been able to do.
