CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The man accused of shooting and killing a man near a movie theater remains behind bars.
According to police arrest records, 55-year-old Marcus Villarreal told police he shot 62-year-old Robert Serrata after he was attacked.
The shooting happened on Thursday morning at a bus stop on Silverberry Drive. That's a street located between AMC Movie Theater and the Walmart near Greenwood.
The arresting officer reported taking a gun from Villarreal after the man told him it was in his pocket.
Serrata was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but died later.
Villarreal was charged with murder and remains in the Nueces County Jail on a $1 million bond.
His case has been assigned to the 117th District Court.
