The law office of Thomas J. Henry held their annual turkey giveaway Saturday morning.
COVID-19 changed the event into a drive-thru like many others. Volunteers said this giveaway is giving hundreds of families a chance to celebrate the holiday as several continue to struggle with the current pandemic.
“So as we know COVID-19 has changed alot of things, what we wanted to make sure is to still give back and help families enjoy a thanksgiving dinner with a turkey” said sponsorship coordinator Elizabeth Martinez.
Martinez said the event was a big turn out. It had to be moved from the law firm’s downtown office to the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds Field Stadium to better accommodate those in attendence. 75 to 80 people volunteered to help make this event a success.
