A large amount of stolen copper was recovered by the San Patricio County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff says they received a tip that large amounts of copper was being sold at Corpus Christi salvage yards.

The local law agency met up with the seller, who was pulling a trailer loaded with 2,000 pounds of the thick gauged copper.

The sheriff says the copper came from spools at TPCO Industries near Gregory.

Two empty spools plus two large full spools were recovered from the sellers home in Portland.

TIPCO confirmed that $93,000 worth of copper was missing from their yard.

Authorities are in the process of getting a felony arrest warrant.
