CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Marines Toys for Tots campaign started passing out thousands of toys for kids in need at La Palmera Mall.
A huge line of folks stretched from the distribution center to the outside of the mall.
Everyone who is receiving toys has already been approved through an application process that ended last week.
“The bills don't stop in December so it is very helpful for us to receive the Toys for Tots.” said parent Amanda Castro.
“I took a selfie with Santa and I can tell them that I came and picked up the toys from Santa Claus.”
Last year more than 49,000 toys were collected.
There are no numbers for this year's donations just yet, but the Marine Corps says they expect to beat that figure.
