The Rockport Art Festival is turning 50 this year! Since 1969, the Rockport Art Festival has been the place to be in July.

The event, hosted by the Rockport Center for the Arts (106 S. Austin Street), typically draws more than 10,000 people each year and features the work of more than 120 artists and craftsmen from here in Texas, as well as from across the nation.

As those who have attended the festival in the past will tell you, it is the quality of paintings, ceramics, jewelry, woodwork, glasswork, metal sculptures and furniture that you find at this event which has made it one of the most prestigious and fun art shows in the southern U.S.

A children’s activity tent offers youngsters the opportunity to create some of their own art work. In addition, numerous art galleries in Rockport will be open during the weekend.
