CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Sold out!
There are no tickets left for the district class 5A Division 1 Regional Semi-Finals between the Roy Miller Buccaneers and Veterans Memorial Eagles.
The game is set for Friday, November 29th, 2019.
Ticket sales were posted over the weekend and already, just like that, they sold out quickly.
The district says they knew this was going to be a good match-up.
Fans are ready to see the Miller Bucs and the Veterans Memorial Eagles go head to head in this upcoming playoff game.
“Well we knew this was going to be a great game, and so we know a lot of people were going to come to the online service that we use they were able to open up the online service and not have to wait till Monday so we were able to open it up over the weekend and that was where a lot of people were able to buy their tickets,” says Senior Director of CCISD Athletics Brenda Marshall.
The game will take place at the Buccaneer Stadium and that's where staff with the Corpus Christi School District had to place additional chairs and bleachers to seat more fans.
“Obviously the community of Corpus Christi is excited about this game it's not very often that you have two local teams the day after Thanksgiving, so everybody is excited about the match up. I think Coach Evans would probably echo my sentiment and for us as a team it's a lot less about who were playing and a lot more about reaching our goals,” says Veterans Memorial Head Coach Cody Simper.
Even though many have gotten their tickets, some left a little disappointed.
"I came and clocked out, came over here and I see the big old sign. Sold out,” says Nora Garcia.
“But at the same token, you know, it's that year of football and everybody likes football,” says Carlos Garcia.
And if you did not get a ticket, well there's good news.
The game will air live at our sister station KRIS 6 News starting at 1:50 pm.
