UPDATE:
The San Patricio County Sheriff's Office has filed Murder charges against a suspect involved in the death of a 42-year-old man from Mathis who was found dead in his car on December 22, 2021.

San Patricio County Sheriff Oscar Rivera said in a Facebook post that on the night of the alleged murder, their office received a call from a man stating that 29-year-old Enrique Ayala Hernandez had shot 42-year-old Michael Espinosa in Espinosa's Camaro. The caller told officers that Hernandez then moved Espinosa's body and drove the car to a wooded area in Jim Wells County on CR 362.

A second report then came into the Jim Wells County Sheriff’s Office stating that someone was trying to dispose of a car down the end of CR362 into the Nueces River.

Jim Wells deputies were able to find the Camaro with Espinosa's dead body inside, and a witness told them they saw Hernandez leave the scene.

Hernandez was detained that night on a separate Parole Violation.

He is being charged with Murder, along with Tampering with Evidence, and Tampering with the Corps. His bond is set at $650,000.
