CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Nueces County Medical Examiner's office has identified a 31-year-old man who was shot and killed shooting on the city's west side.
Police responded to the call in the 500 block of Airport Road, near Iturbide Street, across from Del Mar College's West Campus at about 1 p.m. Jose Aguirre, 31, had been shot, and later died of his injuries at the hospital.
A car with a rear passenger window shot out was also found on the 800 block of nearby Dolores Street.
Adan Salazar, 33, is charged and booked into the Nueces County Jail on Saturday for suspicion of murder, assault on a family/house member and resisting arrest, search or transport. No motive has been released.
"(We) believe the shooting that happened over there was somehow related to the vehicle that we’re investigating here," Lt. Longoria with CCPD said, "However, this vehicle appears to have also taken gunfire so, again, we’re trying to figure out exactly what happened."
Police confirmed the back and side windows of the car, a silver Lincoln, had been shot out but couldn't say how many times.
"Without going through with ballistics and figuring it out, I won’t be able to give you an accurate count," he said. "But it looks like it was struck several times."
