UPDATE (2:30 p.m.): The Nueces Co. Jail has informed KRIS 6 News that Anthony Hinojosa, one of the surviving suspects in the home invasion, has been additionally charged on counts of aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault of a peace officer and engaging in organized crime.

At the time of the incident, CCPD officers reported no injuries has been sustained by the mobile home's residents during the incident.

Corpus Christi Police Department officials said the suspect who was shot in an alleged home invasion last week died from his injuries.

The incident happened around 3:45 a.m. May 26 in the Misty Winds Mobile Home Park in the 5900 block of Ayers Street.

According to Corpus Christi Police Chief Michael Markle, the officers were responding to a disturbance and when officers arrived. They were advised the incident was a home invasion.

The two officers confronted the suspect inside the home, and Markle said both officers gave commands to the suspect. The suspect then pulled out a firearm and both officers shot the suspect, according to Markle.

The alleged suspect, identified as 22-year-old John Alvarado, was transported to a hospital in San Antonio.

According to the Bexar Co. Medical Examiner's Office, Alvarado died due to multiple gunshot wounds on May 28.

Officers said three people were allegedly involved in the home invasion.

Police say 19-year-old Anthony Hinojosa and 18-year-old Marco Molina were both charged with burglary of a habitation with intent with another felony.

Two victims who were inside the home at the time of the incident were not hurt.

The two officers who shot the suspect are still on paid administrative leave, per CCPD department policy.
