The Corpus Christi Nueces County Health District announced a Nueces County resident had died due to COVID-19.
This is the sixth reported death in Nueces County.
Doctors say the deceased male is between the ages of 60 to 69. He was hospitalized in late May. Health officials added he did have preexisting health conditions.
The number of hospitalized persons with COVID-19 has increased significantly over a relatively short period of time.
Doctors say there are no approved treatments for COVID-19, but convalescent plasma treatment has been used to treat severely ill patients.
