CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The search continues for a crew member of a sunken ship near Ingleside. The Coast Guard began a search after a ship sank in La Quinta Channel on Tuesday morning.
Two crewmen were reported to be working aboard the vessel Cristi when it sank approximately 100 yar. One of the men was recovered by a good Samaritan vessel with no reported medical concerns. The other man is still missing.
The Parks and Wildlife and Port of Corpus Christi Police have joined in the search.
Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi personnel are coordinating vessel salvage and pollution response efforts. The cause of the vessel sinking is currently under investigation. According to the Coast Guard, the closure has minimal impact on businesses along the channel.
