CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The RTA unveiled its new state of the art bus stop. A ribbon cutting was held today to celebrate the bus stop located at 18th Street and Hospital Boulevard.
Bus stop no. 283 is ADA compliant, solar powered and hurricane resistant.
It's located close to the Garcia Memorial Family Health Center at CHRISTUS Spohn to better serve patients there.
"We have it located here because this is where the new clinic opened up four years ago. We have been trying to improve the service so that those individuals in our community that need to get to the clinic have an easy access to it," said RTA CEO, Jorge Cruz-Aedo.
The new bus stop is the largest in Corpus Christi and the first of many Smart Stops scheduled to be constructed througout the RTA's bus routes.
