Authorities need help finding the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run yesterday.
Police in Rockport say a driver hit 63-year-old Phillip Chupe around 5:30 p.m. yesterday. Chupe was operating a a mobility scooter along the 1200 block of Business Highway 35 when he was struck. Chupe did not survive.
The vehicle fled the scene without stopping to render aid. Investigators say the vehicle involved is believed to be a dark colored 2011 to 2016 Chevrolet Cruse with extensive damage to the right side. The suspect was last seen traveling south from the area toward Aransas Pass.
