If you plan on going to Rockport to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend, keep in mind Rockport area beaches are closed.
The town's beaches were shut down at midnight last night and they will reopen on Tuesday.
The beach boat ramp is also closed. However, boaters can still use the Aransas County Navigation District boat ramps.
The Rockport Art Festival scheduled for Sunday has also been canceled.
