Robstown City Councilman Cezar Martinez is facing charges after being arrested on a drunk driving charge.

According to his arrest report, on Nov. 21, around 11:12 p.m., a D.P.S. trooper was doing radar work along State Highway 44 near Farm to Market Road 1694 when noticed a car travelling at a high speed.

The trooper clocked 27-year old Cezar Martinez driving 81miles per hour on a 65 miles per hour zone.

After he pulled Martinez over, he noticed there was an open alcohol container inside Martinez' vehicle. The trooper then asked Martinez to step out and determined Martinez was under the influence of alcohol. He then arrested Martinez and took him to the Nueces County Jail.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Martinez is not only a councilman. He is also the lead singer of the Tejano group David Lee Garza y Los Musicales.

Martinez was released from the jail on a $500 bond.
