Corpus Christi police responded to a shooting that sent one man to the hospital.

The shooting happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Niagara and Presa Street.

Senior Officer Travis Pace, with the Corpus Christi police department, said an escalation erupted between two drivers which led up to the shooting.

Police said that a man had been shot and was sent to the hospital. His medical condition is not known at this time.

Investigators are still searching for the suspects. Police are looking for a light colored Ford SUV Expedition or Explorer and they are looking for a gray Chevrolet Avalanche towing a black utility trailer. Pace said both vehicles fled the scene of the shooting.

Police have closed off the intersection near the area.
