CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Multiple people dialed 911 after hearing multiple gunshots ring out near a busy intersection.

The shooting happened just after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Corpus Christi police say they responded to a business near Weber and Holly Road for reports of multiple shots fired and a man inside the store with a handgun.

When officers got to the store, police say the suspect had already left the business.

Corpus Chrisit Lieutenant William Broyles said at the scene, "Updates on the call was that the suspect was shooting and entered the Walgreens and Holly and Weber. And at that point in time, the Walgreens employees and customers had already left through the front door or barricaded themselves in the back."

Officers responded to a convenience store near Montego Drive and Weber Road.

When officers arrived, they found 16 spent shell casings near a gas pump and in the streets surrounding the area.

Officers closed off the area near the convenience store while they gathered security video from the store.

So far, no one has been arrested.
