CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 17-year-old man was arrested and two other males are still being sought in connection with a robbery at a Stripes Store on McKinzie and Leopard streets early this morning.

Jorge Garza was booked by Corpus Christi police Tuesday morning.

The suspects, who are believed to be about the same age as the captured suspect, are believed to be in the Annaville area.

The robbery occurred about 1:45 a.m. today when police received a call that a robbery had taken place at the convenience store. Two males dressed in all black wearing hoodies and gloves walked into a store brandishing large Bowie knives, demanding cash and e-cigarettes before fleeing the scene.

Officers were in the area looking for the suspects when they observed a white pickup with three occupants in the area of the robbery. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle in the area of N. Harrington and Charles Road.

Police said the vehicle came to a stop and all three occupants fled on foot. Officers set up a perimeter and conducted a search before arresting Garza and transporting him to the City Detention Center. Inside the pickup officers located cash and the property that was taken during the robbery.

The other two suspects have yet to be apprehended.

The Stripes clerk apparently was not injured in the incident.
