INGLESIDE, Texas — Saturday morning, Indigenous People of the Coastal Bend hosted a peaceful protest/prayer event in Ingleside to raise awareness of a permit submitted by MODA Midstream oil.

MODA Midstream has requested a permit to build a new dock close to the Brass Turtle for larger ships to load oil for export.

The organization said in a release that Texas water, land, air, and indigenous artifacts are being threatened by MODA’s oil export terminal.

They hope to stop the development, protect the local environment, and protect what they say is a sacred site by making it a historical site of Texas.
