KINGSVILLE, Texas — A new program launched by the Department of Defense is helping military spouses transition through the military lifestyle.
It's called "My Step" and it brings together dozens of resources to an accessible online platform.
Here in the Coastal Bend, hundreds of military spouses transition in and out of Naval Air Stations Corpus Christi and Kingsville.
This new program will help them plan and prepare for what's to come.
“Being able to be prepared at the end game when our spouses may or may not have an immediate job transition helps us to have stability in the family,” said Brooke Spitzer, wife of Naval Air Station Kingsville’s commanding officer.
Spitzer helps military spouses find employment through Workforce Solutions in South Texas.
She says knowing when to reach out and where to access resources has proven to be a challenge before.
The military spouse transition program will make that process easier.
