CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A tradition of year that gets people into the Christmas spirit just might be putting up Christmas lights and decorations.
But how about crafting your very own Christmas wonderland?
Where else could you find Winnie the Pooh, Snoopy, and Spongebob on a homemade Ferris wheel?
Or how about Mario driving a train by Santa’s Workshop and a reindeer corral?
These characters and many more reside at Mr. Bill’s Christmas Wonderland.
Bill Cox says he's been hosting Christmas displays at his home since 1998.
In the very beginning, decorations started with just lights on the house, but from there, his Christmas display grew and even stands at his son's home right across the street.
All pieces handcrafted and watched 24 hours on surveillance cameras.
“Next year another car to the train and then six choir people and then it just got out of hand after that,” says Cox.
Mr. Bill also says it takes two months to prepare and have everything in place.
Cox also says that for several years, he's had many people come by young and old, and watch in awe and he says that motivates him to keep going.
“People are bringing their kids, and people with the kids came when they were kids and it's just you know, every year I say I'm going to quit because it gets so expensive, but I get so many people that come by that have had a rough year and Christmas, is kind of a rough time for them and it's just they feel so blessed and it really helps their spirit so, got do it,” says Cox.
