July 20th marks the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. Celebrations are planned across the country.
The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History is taking part in those celebrations. The museum is holding a "Take a Bite Out Of The Moon" exhibition.
All day Saturday, museum visitors can see and experience all sorts of exhibits and activities related to the space exploration. Visitors can learn all about the Apollo missions to the moon and the proposed manned mission to mars. The museum will also have special guest: NASA's Solar System Ambassador, Vaughn Hunter.
"So we are truly very proud and excited to celebrate that moment and also celebrate STEM and science in general and space and everything science," said Carol Rehthmeyer, Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History CEO.
Saturday happens to be a Dollar Day admission day so everyone pays just $1 to see everything. And every guest will get a free moonpie.
The celebration will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hunter will be speaking at 1 p.m.
