CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — As Christmas approaches fast, a local group is asking the community to pay respects to those who died on the streets this past year.

The Homeless Issues Partnership is holding the 19th Annual National Homeless Person's Memorial Day Sunrise Service tomorrow at 7 a.m. Services will be held at Sherrill Veteran's Memorial Park at Water's Edge Park on the bayfront. Names of those who died on the streets this year will be called. A rose memorial will be tossed into the bay in their memory. The group invites the public to the event and offer prayers as well.

The Homeless Issues Partnership is a regional coalition of agencies, individuals and businesses that work on issues related to homelessness in the Coastal Bend.
