A man was shot and killed shortly after 10 a.m. on Silverberry Drive near the AMC Corpus Christi 16 theater this morning.
Corpus Christi Police Lt. Michael Pena said officers responded to a shots fired on the street that runs between the theater and the Walmart near Greenwood Drive and SPID. When they arrived they found a 62-year-old Hispanic man had been shot.
Marcus Villarreal has been charged with murder. The 55-year-old did not attempt to flee the scene, and was there when police arrived.

Pena said the department isn't seeking any other suspects in the matter.
The incident occurred across the street from a bus stop where an RTA bus pulled up shortly after. No injuries were reported on the bus.
