CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Many area businesses are putting in overtime due to playoff football games here in our community.
Bubba's 33, located at 1921 South Padre Island Dr., threw the Miller Buccaneers a huge pep rally in support of their making it to the third round of the playoffs against Veterans Memorial.
However, they're not the only ones who have been busy.
These players say they are excited and happy to come this far in the season, and area businesses have noticed their hard work as well.
“It's just exciting that we're still in the tournament and get to show how hard we've worked on season and offseason,” said Jayshawn Trimble.
The community was invited to attend this pep rally.
Bubba's 33 was not the only business with its hands full of Miller pride.
Workers with Affordable T-shirts & Graphics say Miller has a huge fan base.
With many games, the business has made about 800 shirts for supporters.
“If they advance, that means more nights making more T-shirts, and more hoodies, but that's okay," said manager John Friesenhahn. "That's fine with us.”
The T-shirt company, located on 1170 S Port Ave., said it is supportive of all Corpus Christi Independent School District schools, and provide services for all of South Texas.
Supporters also were able to get their Miller gear at the community pep rally, and players say it is great to have to the community behind them.
“It's amazing to see all these fans and just come out here and support us, you know, just show their love and support for the team and from the whole community," said Matthew Hernandez. "It's just amazing to see all them out here.”
